Jets Fire Mike Tannenbaum and keep Rex Ryan

After 7 seasons on the job the New York Jets have fired GM Mike Tannenbaum. The Jets will keep Head Coach Rex Ryan after a dismal 6-10 season. In Tannenbaum’s seven seasons, the Jets went 57-55, made the playoffs three times and won four playoff games.

During his tenure they have had had two head coaches, Eric Mangini and Rex Ryan. “Trader Mike” as he was known made some questionable decisions, back in 2009 bringing in the aging Brett Favre and drafting Vernon Gholston in 2008.

Jets owner Woody Johnson said the search will begin immediately and has hired the firm Korn/Ferry International, which will conduct the search for a new GM. The search will be run by former Seahawks Jed Hughes.
