Jets Grind Out 17-10 Win in Jacksonville Over Jaguars

By Jordan Aaron

Week 14 was an interesting one at most. Mark Sanchez yet again led the team to the locker room at halftime with zero points on the board. Playing in Jacksonville, Tim Tebow’s hometown, it would have been an easy move to put number 15 in at the third quarter, but Rex stood by his guy and let him finish the game.

The third quarter was the best one as Shonn Greene started to wear out the Jaguar defense. He scored his first touchdown in 6 games giving the Jets a 7-3 lead. Mark Sanchez seemed to be a middleman between Nick Mangold and Greene/Bilal Powell with his modest 12 completions on 19 attempts. He had no interceptions although he turned the ball over on a fumble. Nick Folk would knock in a field goal before Powell joined Shonn Greene with a touchdown, making the score 17-3. But the game wasn’t over then.

Jaguars’ running back Montell Owens would walk one in to tighten the game back up at 17-10. And on the last drive of the game, Chad Henne rocketed a ball down field for a first down on 4th and 15, bringing them near field goal range. Ellis Lankster would end this run, however, with an interception, setting up Mark Sanchez to sit down in victory formation – something he hasn’t done. The final score was 17 – 10.
