Gridiron Gab Rapid Recap: Richardson Carries Browns to 7-6 Win Over Chargers

A week after maybe his worst game as a pro, Browns RB Trent Richardson put on a show that the San Diego Chargers and their defense won’t soon forget.

Richardson raced through the San Diego D for a 26-yard touchdown run early in the first quarter, and the Browns defense along with some help from Mother Nature held it up the rest of the way, as the Browns won for the second time in 2012, topping the Bolts 7-6.

The winds were whipping all day, at times up to 40 miles per hour, and a steady rain fell the entire afternoon on Browns Stadium, making it tough for either team to get going.

TRich, who played through a rib injury, carried the ball 24 times for 122 yards for the Browns, who have won two of their last three, and are now 2-2 at home this year.

Browns rookie QB Brandon Weeden completed 11-of-27 passes for 129 yards for the Browns, but didn’t make any big mistakes that could have lifted the Chargers to a comeback win.
