The 2012 season is approaching making it the perfect time to recognize some of the Rams very bad men. These men will be pillars in the upcoming season. When other men fall by the way-side these men, blooded and bruised, will rise.
The 2012 Rams ‘Tough as Nails Club’ inductees are:
RB Steven Jackson, QB Sam Bradford, C Scott Wells, LB James Laurinaitis, and rookie CB Janoris Jenkins.
Steven Jackson – 3 time Pro Bowl RB who has played injured and has stayed true to the Rams even when many analysts said he should take his talents elsewhere. He is the Rams all-time leading rusher with over 10,000th career yards from scrimmage. He has rushed for over 1,000 yards for the last 7 seasons in a row.
Sam Bradford – 2008 (Sophomore) Heisman Trophy winner, holds the NCAA record for most touchdown passes by a freshman quarterback, set the record for most completions by a rookie in NFL history, and earned the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year award. 2011 saw injury and disappointment, but near the end of the season Bradford played on his injured ankle. With nothing on the line except pride, he showed a lot of grit and earned the respect of his teammates.
Scott Wells – a longtime starting center (but still in his prime) for the Green Bay Packers. He is a Super Bowl champion and was selected to the 2011 Pro Bowl. He is a team leader who has only missed 1 game in his entire NFL career.
