START: Redskins QB Rex Grossman vs. Patriots. Dan Orlovsky was 30/37, 353 with 2 TD and 1 INT last week against the Patriots, who were starting three new players on defense.
SIT: QB Cam Newton vs. Falcons. This is only if you have someone else you can play, like Rex Grossman or Tony Romo or Carson Palmer. Quarterbacks like Cam Newton, Christian Ponder and Tim Tebow are always at least pretty good plays because of their scrambling. Cam ran for a TD but threw three INTs a few weeks ago against this defense. The Falcons defense has held six of their last 7 opponents to 17 points or less.
START: Bills RB C.J. Spiller vs. Chargers. The Chargers run defense has been gashed in three of the last four weeks by teams who don’t like to throw: Raiders, Broncos, and Jaguars. Spiller had 83 yards and a touchdown against the Titans Sunday. I’m only saying start him and Helu if you have no better ones. They are my sleepers of Week 14.
SIT: Bengals RB Cedric Benson vs. Texans. The Bengals will win the game, but it won’t be an excellent fantasy day for anyone other than the defenses.
START: Seahawks WR Golden Tate vs. Rams. The Rams have a secondary missing its top three corners. After Rice went to IR, the top targets were Golden with 4-47-1 and Miller with 2 catches for 53 yards.
SIT: Bears WR Johnny Knox @ Broncos. Whether Hanie or McCown ends up throwing the most passes, Bennett will be the most-targeted WR because Bailey will likely be on Knox. Bennett has had just 2 catches for 10 yards over the last two weeks, but – with Von Miller back – the Bears won’t have time to complete long passes to Knox.
START: Buccaneers WR Mike Williams @ Jaguars. The Jaguars are missing their top three corners – Derek Cox, Rashean Mathis and William Middleton -. The other Bucs receivers may all be desperation plays but Williams has burned up the last three weeks with 83, 84, and 93 receiving yards, plus 2 TDs.
SIT: Colts WR Pierre Garçon @ Ravens. Top receivers the Ravens have kept out of the end zone the past nine weeks: Greg Little, Michael Crabtree, Braylon Edwards, Sidney Rice, Larry Fitzgerald, Mike Thomas, and Santonio Holmes.
START: Lions TE Brandon Pettigrew vs. Vikings. The Vikings linebackers have struggled in coverage.
SIT: Texans TE Owen Daniels @ Bengals. The Bengals defense will be wanting to eliminate Johnson – if he plays – and Daniels. They have the personnel to do it.
START: 49ers DST @ Cardinals. The 49ers have owned the Cardinals in each of the last five match-ups. Whisenhunt makes this an easy pick.
SIT: Redskins DST vs. Patriots. You never know if the Patriots offense is going to go full playoff mode like the end of last season or if they will struggle like they did in 2007. Most of the time, it starts executing in December.
Hit “Like” if you have the line-up to win in your playoffs, spoil someone, or end the year on a high note.
