You knew this was coming. The recently released running back Tashard Choice has found a new home with the rival Redskins. Choice was cut to make room to move LB Bruce Carter to the Cowboys active roster.
Choice had only 84 yards on 30 carries so far this season. He has also fumbled the ball twice. Choice was banged up in the game against the Rams two weeks ago and allowed DeMarco Murray to make a name for himself.
Choice is looking forward to the opportunity in Washington, “It’s a blessing,” he said as he was about to catch a flight for Washington on Monday night, “I wanted to be there and they wanted to go a different route. It’s time for me to make my mark (with another team) and it’s time for me to take advantage of my opportunities.” Something he did not do in Dallas.
With Choice’s release, the Cowboys are banking on Murray and Phillip Tanner to carry the load over the next couple of weeks while starter Felix Jones recovers from a high ankle sprain.
The Cowboys will travel to Washington November 20 in a game that Choice has certainly circled on his calendar.
