The Cardinals have found the replacement cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, as ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter reports the team has reached an agreement with free agent cornerback Richard Marshall on a one-year deal.
The Cardinals add a physical corner that’s willing to hit and will look to make the loss of Rodgers-Cromartie as painless as possible. While Marshall was abused by opposing passing games last year, he was also picked on because teams stayed way from Chris Gamble.
With 32 starts under his belt over the last two seasons, Marshall has a good chance to bounce back in the desert.
The team also announced an agreement had been reached on a five-year contract with LSU cornerback Patrick Peterson, the team’s first-round (5th overall) selection in the 2011 NFL Draft. In addition, the team has also agreed to terms on a two-year contract with free agent guard Floyd Womack.
