New Broncos Coach Fox Says Orton, Not Tebow, the Broncos Starting QB

New Broncos coach John Fox has announced his first huge announcement since becoming the Denver Broncos head coach.

At the NFL Combine in Indy Thursday, Fox, who came to the team after being fired from the Carolina Panthers, announced that Kyle Orton is as of now the Broncos starting QB – not former first round pick Tim Tebow.

Orton started the first 13 games last season but it was Tebow, the former Heisman Trophy winner and national college champion, that started the final three games of the year and turned some heads for Denver as they scored 23, 24 and 28 points for a team that had plenty of issues on offense when Orton was the starter.

The Broncos traded three draft picks to select Tebow, but for now, he will be in the bullpen behind Orton according to Fox.

  1. John says:

Fox and Elway are missing the point. Orton is a good QB, that can’t lead, Tebow is a great leader that can play better. Players won’t play hard for a slip and slide sissy QB. they want a QB with warrior mentality. Elway should understand. My favorite Elway play was his diving, spinning TD in the super bowl. I guarantee you will never see Orton put his body on the line to win. Winners like Tebow, Elway, Farve, Rodgers are willing to put it all on the line to win. As for the technical side, the only measuring stick that matters is winning. Orton loses period, Tebow wins period. Ask the team, ask the fans, hell ask the owners THEY WANT TO WIN PERIOD. Check the film it was lineman who chestbumped Tebow when he scored, it was a lineman that rushed over to protect Tebow after a late hit, the whole team responded to Tebow motivational style of play. The Broncos scored more in Tebow’s starts than All but one of Orton’s. The verdict is in Tebow is the clear cut choice to lead this wounded team back to glory. Problem is Fox and Elway missed the point while they were looking for wins in all the wrong places.
