There’s been a lot of talk as of late about where Adam “Pacman” Jones may end up, and for awhile the Lions appeared to be in the running. MLive.com reports though the team no longer seems to feel that Jones is in their plans, as they are moving on without thoughts of inking him.
Detroit Lions general manager Martin Mayhew is fond of saying he’s a man who likes to keep his options open, and that’s why the Lions aren’t slamming the door completely shut on Pacman Jones. However, according to sources close to the situation, the Lions have no plans to sign Jones in the foreseeable future. Jones is an unrestricted free-agent cornerback who has been out of football since 2008.
Jones will land somewhere in the NFL in 2010, and a couple teams including the 49’ers still have their eyes on him as a possible stop gap at corner.
