There was a lot of excitement when the Pats were able to ink running back Fred Taylor this past offseason, but there’s also a lot of warranted concern about his injury history, which has reared his ugly head again. The Boston Globe reports that Taylor has already suffered an injury, a sprained wrist.
The injury took place while he was exercising, according to medical sources. The paper says that Taylor hurt the wrist when he fell on his outstretched left hand while he was working down in Florida. The vet played in 13 games last season, and the two years prior played in 15 games. He’s had seasons though where he’s played in just 11 games, 14 games, and just two games.
It’s a concern that he may not be able to hold up, but if the Pats use him as they have running backs in the past, he won’t be counted on for a ton of carries per game.
