Colts Take Care of Titans in Possible Playoff Preview 23-0

The Tennessee Titans (13-2) and the Indianapolis Colts (11-4) are two of the elite teams in the AFC and the entire NFL. Both teams already have a playoff berth, so today?s game was probably one of the least influential games of the season.

Most starters played one series or did not play at all. This week is being used by both teams to rest their star players before the intense playoff games. If one thing can be taken out of these kinds of games, it is seeing the talent in some of the second and third string players who normally don?t see much field time.

The Colts allowed Peyton Manning to start the opening drive of the game. The biggest play of the game occurred on this drive when Manning completed a short pass to Addai. Addai made a swift juke through the linebackers and ran for 55 yards into the Touchdown.

Vince Young took the majority of the snaps, but didn?t make much progress with the offense. Young was 9 of 13 for 55 yards and had a difficult time converting on third down. The Titans offense finished the game with only 125 yards compared to the Colts? 390.

The Colts controlled the ball for 38 minutes of the game, while the Titans offense only had the ball for 21 minutes of the game. No player from either team really stood out or made big plays.

The Colts ended up beating the Titans 23-0. The Titans get next week to rest up their players. Haynesworth and Kyle Vanden Bosch should both be ready in two weeks for the Titans first playoff game. There is worry that a lot of the starters will be rusty in that first playoff game since they are getting so much time off.

The AFC playoff picture won?t be completed until late Sunday night. We will get a glimpse of what the Titans possible opponents will be in the playoffs. Congratulations to both the Colts and the Titans who both finish the season with great records. These teams are 1-1 against each other and if both play their best game in the playoffs, then maybe these teams will meet one more time.
