Dolphins and Chiefs Inquire About Bills QB Losman

Bills quarterback J.P. Losman wants out of Buffalo, as the team seems committed with going with second-year QB Trent Edwards now as the starting QB. It wasn’t long after the season ended that Losman started putting out vibes that he wanted to be traded, and was playing his hand to the media about wanting out of upstate New York. So what destinations will Losman find himself in when the 2008 season starts?

Well, the rumor mill was churning hard this past weekend at the scouting combine about two teams that need a quarterback taking a long look at Losman – the Dolphins and Chiefs. Both teams talked to the Bills reps about what Buffalo would want to acquire Losman’s services. Losman is a former number one pick, but in his time in Buffalo he’s not played like a number one, thus it would be unlikley that Miami or KC would offer anything over a 3 or 4 for Losman.

Last season Losman played in eight games, throwing 4 TD’s and six interceptions. He had a QB rating of just 76.9. In four seasons with the Bills, Losman has a QB rating of just 77.3, with 31 touchdowns and 29 picks. The only season he played in all 16 games was 2006, throwing 19 touchdowns. The Dolphins and Chiefs will keep an eye out for what the Bills do with Losman, and if the oven gets hotter with talk of him moving, look for one of those teams to jump on grabbing his services.
