Panthers QB Testaverde Questionable With a Stiff Back

Vinny hurting again

David Carr may be back in the saddle again for the Carolina Panthers.  Current Panthers starting QB Vinny Testaverde is now questionable for tomorrow’s home contest with the New Orleans Saints, as he has a stiff back.  Vinny had practiced all week, but then was on the injury report after showing up at the Panthers practice today with the back stiffness.

In four games this season Vinny has a QB rating of 69.8.  He has thrown for three TD’s and three picks to go along with 699 yards.  As for Carr, he hasn’t been very good in the five games he’s played in for the Panthers.  He has a QB rating of 65.7, getting sacked 12 times and he’s also thrown for 3 TD’s and three picks and 540 yards.

If head coach John Fox is not happy with the play of Carr and Vinny is a no-go, then look for undrafted rookie Matt Moore to get some snaps Sunday.  Moore has played in four gamed this season, throwing two picks and no TD’s.  He has a QB rating of 34.9 for the Panthers, a team that been downright terrible on offense over most of the season.
