Chiefs Player Kills Girlfriend, Then Commits Suicide

Police are investigating two shootings Saturday morning, involving a Kansas City Chiefs player and his girlfriend. Kansas City police Supervisor Andrea Khan could not release the name of the player involved.

Details are still unclear, but KCTV5 reports that shooting was reported at approximately 8am at a home near 54th Street and Chrysler Avenue, and a second shooting was reported a short time later at a Chiefs practice facility located on the Arrowhead facility.

Officials said the Chiefs player shot and killed his girlfriend and then drove to the practice facility where he shot and killed himself.

The Chiefs have released the following statement:

“We can confirm that there was an incident at Arrowhead earlier this morning. We are cooperating with authorities in their investigation.”

Speculation on Twitter continues this morning with several tweets that the dead Chiefs player is Jovan Belcher. Police have not confirmed this information.

We’ll update you when information is confirmed by authorities or the Kansas City Chiefs.

  1. Todays’ Tragic Suicide /Murder Of The Kansas City NFL Player Reminds Us Of The Need For Mandated Intervention For Problem Players. Hopefully, a more credible Anger Management Professional will be contracted to provide this service. The NFL should take a page from the Joint Commission on The Accreditation of Health Care Organizations (JACHO) relative to “disruptive physicians.
