NFL Gridiron Gab Editor Matt Loede’s NFL Picks For Week Twelve

Last Week 12-2
Season 99-57

Denver at Kansas City – The Chiefs haven’t been able to get anything going this season, and now they have to stop Peyton Manning and the Broncos, who have the AFC West all but wrapped up. Look for Manning and company to keep playing well, and the Broncos will get another win as they get closer to clinching the west. Denver 27 Kansas City 10

Buffalo at Indianapolis – Last week the Bills rose up for a huge home win, but here vs the Colts they won’t have enough to overcome Andrew Luck and Indy, who look to rebound after giving up 59 points last week. The Colts will have enough with Luck and his passing game to overcome a Bills team that will have trouble vs the Colts run D. Indianapolis 26 Buffalo 17

Pittsburgh at Cleveland – This has all the makings of an ugly game, and one that could be won with 1-2 big plays. The Steelers are desperate to get a win, and with the line hopefully protecting Batch and him only needing to make making 1-2 big throws, he should be able to squeeze out the 14 points they need to beat the Browns. The run game needs to be the key, and the Steelers D needs to not get sloppy in their packages vs Brandon Weeden. Pittsburgh 14 Cleveland 10

Oakland at Cincinnati – Last week after another bad game Raiders owner Mark Davis spoke out. It won’t be enough to stop Andy Dalton and A.J. Green as they have huge games in another Cincy win as they start to believe again they can make the postseason. Cincinnati 38 Oakland 20

Seattle at Miami – Seattle makes a trip to South Florida, taking on a Dolphins team that seems to be done with postseason hopes. Seattle is in the thick of a race for a wild card in the NFC. If the Hawks can get a good game from Russell Wilson, they should be able to do enough on defense to get a win in Florida. Seattle 24 Miami 17

Atlanta at Tampa Bay – Tampa has been playing well, and they are playing a team in the Falcons have lost two weeks ago, and last week had issues with the Cardinals. Josh Freeman needs to be careful with the Falcons secondary, but I think Doug Martin has a big enough game to hold down Matt Ryan and for the Bucs to get a huge home win. Tampa Bay 23 Atlanta 20

Minnesota at Chicago – Can the Bears score enough to beat a Vikings team that feels they can sneak out a road win in the Windy City? Yes. Matt Forte and Brandon Marshall have to get the ball more, and even with Jay Cutler not cleared to play, the Bears D and just a little offense should be enough to get a win. Chicago 20 Minnesota 16

Tennessee at Jacksonville – An AFC South battle with the Jags giving the ball to Chad Henne for the rest of the year with Blaine Gabbert going on IR. The Titans have been playing better, and have won two games on the road, and will have enough to overcome the 1-win Jags with a couple big plays down the stretch to get the win. Tennessee 28 Jacksonville 26

Baltimore at San Diego – The Ravens are in control of the North after beating the Steelers last week, but a trip out west could be tough vs a Chargers team that can score. Versus the Ravens D, I think the Chargers will have enough to get a huge home win with Philip Rivers throwing his way to a big win for the Bolts. San Diego 35 Baltimore 27

St.Louis at Arizona – Cards are in a major funk, as they can’t get their offense going, and while the Rams have issues scoring, they will have enough D and just enough offense to get a win on the road in the desert. St.Louis 13 Arizona 6

San Francisco at New Orleans – An epic playoff game from a year ago, but as for now, Alex Smith is not cleared, giving the edge to the Saints at home. New Orleans gets Darren Sproles back, and expect Drew Brees to have a big game after the 49ers D played so well vs the Bears last Monday night at home. New Orleans 21 San Francisco 14

Green Bay at New York Giants – The hot hand here is with Aaron Rodgers and the Packers, as they have overcome a slow start to suddenly look like a Super Bowl team. The Giants are having major issues scoring, and even a bye week won’t be enough for them to lose their third in a row to the Packers. Green Bay 27 New York Giants 13

Carolina at Philadelphia – Two teams that have laid big eggs finish off week 12. Nick Foles gets his second start, and wasn’t very good last week vs the Skins. Cam Newton and the Panthers played hard at home vs the Bucs last week. Could be the final win for Andy Reid, as the Eagles will rise up and stop the Cats on primetime. Philadelphia 24 Carolina 22
