Gridiron Gab Rapid Recap: LeShoure’s 3 TD’s Lifts Lions to 31-14 Win Over Jaguars

All season the Lions have looked for a running game. It took till week nine, but it looks like vs the Jaguars they finally found one.

Mikel LeShoure ran for three touchdowns, all in the second quarter, as the Lions topped the Jaguars 31-14 in Florida Sunday, pushing them to 4-4 on the year.

The loss puts the Jaguars at 1-7, and they have lost five straight since their only win of the year, a win in Indianapolis in week three.

LeShoure ran for 70 yards in the win, while Joique Bell ran for 73 yards on 13 carries for the Lions, who on the day ran for 149 yards and held the ball for 35:30.

Jacksonville’s woes continued, and they scored their first touchdown with 8:36 left when Blaine Gabbert hit Micheal Spurlock with a 5-yard score.

Gabbert threw a 6-yard TD to rookie WR Justin Blackmon with :50 seconds left for the teams other TD.

The Jags were outgained in the loss 434 to 279, and showed little improvement and seem to be going nowhere fast with rookie head coach Mike Mularkey.

Matt Stafford was 22-for-33 for 285 yards and a QB rating of 93.6 for the Lions. Gabbert went 27-for-38 for 220 yards with two TD’s and two picks for the Jaguars.
