NFL Gridiron Gab Editor Matt Loede’s NFL Picks For Week Seven

Last Week 5-9
Season 50-39

Tennessee Titans at Buffalo Bills – The Bills have been streaky, playing a good game, then a bad one. The Titans have a lot of motivation after the win over the Steelers, and I think veteran QB Matt Hasselbeck throws them to a big win here. Tennessee 17 Buffalo 14

Dallas Cowboys at Carolina Panthers – Expect this to be a game where both teams play not to make mistakes. Problem right now is Panthers QB Cam Newton is making too many of them, and a week off isn’t going to solve that. Dallas 30 Carolina 18

Baltimore Ravens at Houston Texans – Last week the Texans were brought down to earth by the Packers, and now they take on a beat up Ravens team, without Ray Lewis and Ladarius Webb. Houston has enough to rebound, and hand Joe Flacco and company their second loss. Houston 27 Baltimore 13

Cleveland Browns at Indianapolis Colts – The Colts have been tough against the pass, they haven’t been able to stop anyone on the ground. Surrendering 159.0 rushing yards per contest, Indianapolis gave up a season-worst 252 last weekend. That means that the Browns will feed Trent Richardson often, and it should turn into a second straight win for the improving Browns. Cleveland 24 Indianapolis 17

Arizona Cardinals at Minnesota Vikings – This is going to be a dogfight, but the Vikings are more healthy, and at home have the clear cut edge, coming out with a huge week seven win to get to 5-2. Minnesota 24 Arizona 13

Washington Redskins at New York Giants – RG3 gets his first taste of the Giants, while the G-Men are coming off a huge road win over the Niners. Washington is playing better, but the Giants will use their passing game to get them to a win over the Skins. NY Giants 26 Washington 14

Green Bay Packers at St.Louis Rams – Look for the Rams to keep it close, but the Packers are feeling good about things after last week, and it will carry over for another road win over the Rams. Green Bay 29 St.Louis 17

New Orleans Saints at Tampa Bay Buccaneers – The Saints passing game, which should be even more refreshed off the bye, should be more than enough to outplay the Bucs offense, meaning an easy win in Tampa for New Orleans. New Orleans 27 Tampa Bay 10

New York Jets at New England Patriots – It’s make or break for the Jets, who can turn their season around with a win over the Pats. All week they have done the talking, problem is, it’ll be the same old results, with the Pats pulling out a home win over their rivals. New England 17 NY Jets 12

Jacksonville Jaguars at Oakland Raiders – Oakland at home seems the better play here, and with the Jags awful offense, look for the Raiders D to have a solid day, and top the Jags with RB Darren McFadden having over 100 yards and two TD’s. Oakland 28 Jacksonville 14

Pittsburgh Steelers at Cincinnati Bengals – A wounded Steelers team goes to Cincy, where they usually have success. The Bengals passing game should keep the Steelers on their toes, and with injuries to the top two Steelers RB’s, Pittsburgh is hurting in a bad way, and will give up too many points to win this one. Cincinnati 34 Pittsburgh 26

Monday, October 22

Detroit Lions at Chicago Bears – The Lions played well in Philly last week, and now roll into Chicago, where the Bears are coming off the bye week. I like the Bears here with their run game to keep Matthew Stafford off the field, and think that their D will get at least one score, moving them to 5-1 on the year. Chicago 27 Detroit 17
