Jets Sign Free Agent Corner Aaron Berry; Is Terrell Owens Next?

The New York Jets have not given up at 2-2 after a 34-0 home beatdown at the hands of the San Francisco 49ers.

Today, they signed free agent CB Aaron Berry, recently released by the Lions, to a 2-year deal. He must serve a 3-game suspension for assault charges, after being arrested for the second time during the summer. Berry has played in 12 career games and has 13 career passes defensed with one interception.

The next goal for the Jets must be to address wide receiver, whether or not Santonio Holmes has ligament damage (his x-ray was negative, but it looks as though he has ligament damage). It’s clear the Jets aren’t getting consistent quality quarterback play from Mark Sanchez, but adding free agent WR Terrell Owens would be a good last-ditch effort to reveal who the main culprit(s) is/are for Sunday’s putrid 8 first-down travesty. Stephen Hill is still out, and is still learning how to beat man coverage. Jeremy Kerley is a contributor, and Patrick Turner and Chaz Schilens don’t strike fear into the heart of defenses.

If nothing else, adding Owens, Plaxico Burress, and/or Mike Sims-Walker might save them from another performance on offense like Sunday (the Jets still have some great defenses left on the schedule, including the Cardinals, Seahawks, Chargers and the prolific Houston Texans in Monday night’s match-up). I don’t know if Tannenbaum and Rex Ryan would feel like bringing in another player who’ll likely miss time with suspension in Chad Johnson.

Hit “Like” or the Facebook share button if you think the Jets should get serious about the WR position this week.

If I were the Jet I would bring in all three of those receivers in Owens, Burress & Johnson.

Owens & Johnson have already shown that they can play together and Burress was there last year this is a no brainier. The coach is crazy and so are these guys but they always brought it on the field!

Do you want to win or do you want a girl scout team? Let get some ballers that want the ball that can free so Sanchez can throw the ball down the field, but then it not you put Tebow in and try some of that last year Denver magic!

CHARLES, TEBOW ACTUALLY THROWS A GREAT DEEP BALL…AND T O LOVES THE DEEP BALL! BUT WHAT’S BEING MISSED BY COACH RYAN IS THAT TEBOW IS A LEADER OF MEN…A GENERAL! HE KNOWS HOW TO LEAD TROOPS!…MARK IS A GQ MAG PRETTY BOY…NOT A LEADER…SO BRIN IN TEBOW AND T O…AND LET THE FIREWORKS BEGIN!!!!!!!!

Thats what I am talking about. Grow some balls Jets and rex Ryan. First of all stop hating on Tebow give hime a chance. Who is perfect in this world sign all three of them Burress, Johnson and Owens. What other choice do have. Matter a fact show up the Cowboys before they grab Owens. wee know that romo can throw to Terrell owens if he cant throw to anyone else. We ad all three of those guys we will be un beaten but Mark Sanchez still needs to go sit in time out enough already we need to go to the play offs. Grow some hair on your chest Rex Ryan or go back to being a defense coach you have no clue about offense. The fans want to win. Its definitely Tebow time. What do we have to do lose all of the regular season games for you to wake up?
