Redskins Ink RB Ryan Grant, Put RB Helu Jr. on IR

The Redskins agreed to terms with free agent running back Ryan Grant today, according to various reports.

Grant will likely bolster the depth chart at running back behind Alfred Morris, who is firmly entrenched as the team’s starter, and currently 9th in the NFL in total rushing yards.

Grant indicated his familiarity with the zone blocking scheme run by Mike Shanahan and company, along with the opportunity to play alongside star rookie quarterback Robert Griffin III, helped say his decision to sign with the Redskins (i’m sure that being unemployed before today, and finally having an opportunity to earn a paycheck after remaining unsigned through training camp, also had something to do with it).
