Gridiron Gab Rapid Recap: Chiefs Rally For Wild OT Win Over Saints 27-24

The Chiefs 2012 season seemed ready to be officially on life support after going down 24-6 in the third quarter to the Saints Sunday at the SuperDome.

That’s when everything clicked.

The Chiefs outscored the Saints 21-0 down the stretch and in OT, as they rallied for a gutsy 27-24 win over the Saints for their first win of the 2012 campaign.

Ryan Succop was one of many heros for the Chiefs, as he hit on six field goals. One of the kicks forced overtime in the final seconds and another from 31 yards to lift the Chiefs to the win.

Succop’s 43-yard field goal with 3 seconds left completed a comeback by Kansas City after the Saints had scoredd in on a pair of Chiefs turnovers to go ahead 24-6 in the third quarter.

The Chiefs got back in it on a 91-yard run by Jamaal Charles, who finished with 233 yards rushing and 55 yards receiving. The Chiefs also got a safety in the fourth quarter on Justin Houston’s third sack of the game.
