Gridiron Gab Week Two Preview: New York Jets at Pittsburgh

Ahh the Pittsburgh Steelers, the team Jets fans have come to hate, especially after their 2010 defeat in the AFC Championship game.

Plus, Heinz Field was used as the home for the Gotham Rogues in The Dark Knight Rises, and in this game Ben Roethlisberger will look to redeem himself after his team fell to the Broncos in week one.

The Steelers couldn’t get a rushing attack going against the Broncos D with a combined total of 75 yards, although Rashard Mendenhall was not in the game. This week Mendenhall’s role yet to officially be announced but he has participated fully in both practices this week.

Mendenhall has a tendency of taking over games when the ball is in his hands but the question is how he will respond coming off an ACL injury. Even if he doesn’t play the Jets have some work to do as they let up almost 200 yards on the ground last week. If they have any shot at winning this game they will have to stop the run and force turnovers just like they did last week.
