Gridiron Gab Week Two Preview: Baltimore at Philadelphia

Baltimore ( 1-0) @ Philadelphia Eagles (1-0)

Sun, 09/16 at 1:00 PM EDT

Away: Lincoln Financial Field

In 2011 LeSean McCoy massed just over 1300 yards and had a 4.8 rushing average.  Do the Ravens stack the box and try to contain McCoy?  In doing so they leave themselves vulnerable to talented receiving corps with receivers DeSean Jackson, Jeremy Maclin and TE Brent Celek.  The Ravens defense had a dominating game versus the Bengals, however they allowed BenJarvis GreenEllis 91 yards on the ground—and that can’t happen again, especially against an elite running back.

QB Michael Vick not only has to be contained in the passing game, but he can’t be allowed to get outside the pocket. Vick is still a threat to run with the ball. Vick is coming off a tough game, 4 interceptions and 2 fumbles.  However, Vick should rebound playing on home turf.  The Ravens pass rush went dormant (a times) for a little while in Monday’s game. Baltimore’s defense will look to consistently find ways to disrupt the pocket.
