Gridiron Gab Week One Preview: Philadelphia at Cleveland

The new look Cleveland Browns have a shot to land an early upset, as they host Michael Vick and the Eagles at home in week one of the NFL season.

Brandon Weeden and Trent Richardson lead the new offense for Cleveland, but it’s one that is going to be tested by an Eagles team that is looking to make a big jump from a season ago.

Cleveland was beat up by the Eagles in preseason, and with Richardson missing all of the preseason with an injury, it will be up to Weeden to lead the way, and even he has had issues with fumbles and picks in the practice games.

A big question will be how can the Browns defense put the halt to Vick and that Eagles offense? Vick has been resting since suffering bruised ribs, but says he’s ready to go.

“I feel good going into this game,” he said. “I feel like I’m 100 percent, and I don’t really have any nagging injuries. I think I’m fully recovered.”

LeSean McCoy led the NFL with 17 rushing touchdowns and ran for 1,309 yards to finish fourth in the league last year, and he will have a big day against a beat up Browns defense.

The Browns need to do everything right on the Lakefront, and that may not even be enough to land the upset.
