The Oakland Raiders beefed up their secondary by adding CB Joselio Hanson today, recently cut by the Eagles.
The Raiders will be tasked with stopping Philip Rivers – who skipped the third preseason game because of offensive line injuries and went 8-10 with 0 TD in an INT in the finale – and a patchwork group of wide receivers with no Vincent Jackson (now with Tampa Bay) and no Vincent Brown (currently hurt). They play next Monday at 10:15 ET on ESPN, with Chris Berman (play-by-play) and Trent Dilfer in the booth.
I figured Hanson had the best chance – of all the released players – of playing somewhere this season with the emphasis on corner depth to stop spread, 5-WR sets. Hanson has 3.5 sacks, 4 INTs and 45 passes defensed across 104 games (19 starts) since 2004.
