NFL Tells Teams Replacement Officials Will Be on the Field Week One

If you haven’t liked how the replacement refs have been performing this preseason, get ready, they will be on the field for week one of the NFL campaign.

The league office alerted all 32 teams Wednesday that the season will begin with replacement officials in place, Albert Breer of NFL.com reports.

Negotiations between the league and the NFL Referees’ Association remain “deadlocked,” according to the memo sent by NFL executive vice president Ray Anderson.

There’s been plenty of awful calls this preseason, and once they start to effect games that actually matter, you can bet those refs sitting out will be holding the cards in their talks.
