Lions Interested In Trading For Chris Ivory

ProFootballTalk has followed up on CBS’s Jason La Canfora’s report of the Lions looking to trade for a running back, reporting that New Orleans Saints RB Chris Ivory is a target.

Ivory has carried 35 times for 130 yards, a 3.7 average, in preseason. Fellow RB Travaris Cadet is 3rd among all players in receiving yards with 202 (Ivory has 1 reception for 15 yards), and looks to have passed Chris Ivory on the depth chart. New Orleans’ top 3 running backs are Darren Sproles, Pierre Thomas, and Mark Ingram.

Ivory has carried 216 times for 1090 yards and 6 touchdowns in 18 regular season games.  Just 6 of those games were starts. He has 1 reception for 17 yards (Bush and Sproles were the main backs for that).

The Lions’ Jahvid Best is on the PUP list for the first six weeks of 2012, with doctors advising that he wait an entire calendar year after his last concussion to play. Mikel LeShoure has had injury issues, and so has Kevin Smith.

Hit “Like” or the Facebook share button if you think the Lions should send a 5th-round draft pick to the Saints for Ivory.

So I guess the time that Ivory stepped as a rookie for the team doesn’t matter to the New Orleans fans anymore! New guy comes in and everybody wants to get googly eyed. Ivory did way more in his rookie preseason then Cadet. Who cares if Cadet is catching short passes under defense (2nd or 3rd string defense might I had)! How could you even compare Bush to Ivory, Ivory did way more than Bush in Ivory’s rookie year! I’m sorry but Cadet’s 2.9 ypc, compared to Ivory’s 5 ypc is leaving me not impressed. I see Cadet more as a Bush, someone who can catch the ball on a swing or under defense, but can run the ball sometimes. I’m sorry but I am interested in my running back running the ball! Let’s see how Cadet stacks up against the big boys! If I was Ivory I would be happy to leave, especially since some of these Who Dat fans has turned their back on him, I rather be great somewhere else!
