The Redskins Trade Kevin Barnes To Lions

The Washington Redskins have traded CB Kevin Barnes to the Lions for an undisclosed draft pick or player. He had 3 INTs, 39 tackles, 9 passes defensed, and 1 punt return for 0 yards in 28 games (3 starts). He was originally thought to have been released as the Redskins get down to 75 before they need to get down to 53 on Saturday.

The Lions secondary was one of the worst in the NFL last year, and was already due to look different as they didn’t resign CB Eric Wright, and they released CB Aaron Berry, who hasn’t signed with another team yet while he faces a 3-game suspension. The top member of their secondary, FS Louis Delmas, has been out with injury but is on track to start week 1.
