Ryan Mathews Broke His Clavicle, Will Be Out 4-6 Weeks

Perhaps signing RB Ronnie Brown was a brilliant low-risk move for the Chargers.

RB Ryan Mathews was hurt tonight at home against the Packers, breaking his clavicle on his first carry. He’ll miss 4-6 weeks.

People have been piling on Mathews for getting injured too much, as if it’s somehow his fault. Chargers fans are understandably disappointed at the SITUATION (considering Mathews played 14 games last season, going off with 1546 yards from scrimmage and 6 rushing TDs). Fantasy football fans who already drafted him should probably stop putting money into fantasy football if it causes them to get angry at players for things beyond their control.

Jacob Hester, Ronnie Brown, Curtis Brinkley, Le’Ron McClain, Edwin Baker, Jackie Battle, and Michael Hayes are the other running backs and fullbacks for the Chargers.
