The CFL Will Broadcast on NBC Sports Network

Alright, all you Canuckleheads. The CFL is coming to us hillbilly Americans on NBC Sports Network in HD, starting Monday, August 27th. Of the nine regular season games, only one of them – Lions visiting Alouettes – features neither the Toronto Argonauts nor the Edmonton Eskimos.

The NFL has a lot of ex-CFL players in camp at this moment, the most famous being Dolphins DE Cameron Wake, who drew – by far – the most offensive holding penalties of any defensive player last season.

I definitely dig the way it pans out with the divisional finals. I can watch one if the NFL is uninteresting at the time, and watch the other after Baltimore @ Pittsburgh, Sunday Night Football.

It’s yet to be seen if NBC Sports Network will try to tie this in with NBC’s Emmy-winning Sunday Night Football broadcasts and NBC Sports Network’s new Sunday morning pregame show, anchored by Michelle Beadle. A sizable chunk of sophisticated football fans appreciate both CFL and NFL, in addition to the NCAA (NBC Sports Network has Mountain West games, NBC has Notre Dame).

Other CFL games will be broadcast on ESPN3, ESPN’s online network. As of today, only one team has neither 3 wins nor 3 losses, the 1-5 Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
