Obama To Jets: You Aren’t Building That…Championship Team That Way

President of the United States Barack Obama called into Columbus Ohio’s 97.1 The Fan Thursday and the topic turned to the New York Jets. Keep in mind, the President – a Chicago White Sox “fan” – couldn’t name a favorite White Sox player from growing up (instead re-imagined how he was more of a fan of other teams), and had difficulty naming ANY of the current players on Opening Day 2010.

Here’s the President:
“I’ve got to tell you, I don’t like the idea of a quarterback controversy at the start of a season. If I were a Jets fan, I’d be pretty nervous. Sanchez is not Tom Brady yet, but he led them to the playoffs two years in a row. I think Tim Tebow seems to be a wonderful young man and he’s got just a great, winning attitude. He steps up when things count…but there’s going to be a lot of tension in that situation.”

Here’s the response from Jets head coach Rex Ryan:
“I’ll say this, I respect President Obama and I respect the fact that this is his opinion. That’s it. I’m not taking the layup and all that jazz. That’s it…It shows how popular our game really is. Every single person has an opinion, and it seems like they have an opinion on our football team. It’s amazing: This is the president of the greatest country there is, and he’s talking about the New York Jets football team.”

This flake idiot of a President needs to stay off the damned telephone and do some freaking work for a change.
