While much has been made of all the cat-calls at Jets practice and a reporter , I truly believe Tim Tebow will make a positive impact on the Jets this season, such that he should have been had for a 2nd or 3rd rounder and not a few 6ths. And, no, I’m not talking about him as an inspirational special teamer, or locker room and weight room leader.
Many persist in blaming him for his own celebrity status, or marginalizing his talent just because he hasn’t grown much as a passer in three seasons in the NFL. Brewers closer John Axford referred to him as the “Kardashian” of sports.
Mike Westhoff, Jets special teams coordinator, has said they wouldn’t mind Tebow being an up man in the event of a squib kick. This may cause Tebow to get injured, but I expect the Jets to use him primarily in option situations and in little spots here and there.
I still think it’s very important when evaluating the star of training camp thus far – Stephen Hill – along with the Jets quarterbacks, that we remember that Sanchez has only worked with Brian Schottenheimer, who was on his first OC job, and not exactly winning over the offensive players. Schottenheimer’s offenses were in 17th, 13th and 13th in scoring.
Hit “Like” or the Facebook share button if you are psyched for the debut of Tim Tebow with the Jets in the preseason hosting the Bengals on August 10th, for which the Arena Football League changed the kick-off for its championship game to avoid.
