The Bears added another piece to their defensive line on Thursday, as the team made a deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for DT Brian Price.
The Bears give up an undisclosed 2013 draft pick, pending a physical, for Price.
Last season, Price played through extraordinary discomfort from surgeries to repair both hamstrings and a pelvic fracture. But that’s nothing compared to the anguish he suffers over the loss of his 33-year-old sister, Bridget James, who died in a hit-and-run automobile accident in May in Los Angeles.
“I’m doing better, I’ve been working out well,” Price said recently. “I’m feeling better than I’ve been in a while, even though I have a lot going on. I’m still trying to grieve and trying to cry. Today I had a breakdown, because it hit me again she’s gone.”
He will get a fresh start with the Bears, as he’s on board with a team that plans on using him in 2012.
