Suspended Coach Gregg Williams Claims He Will Coach Again

Former Saints defensive coordinator Gregg Williams, suspended indefinitely for his role in the Saints bounty scandal, said Friday he has not spoken to NFL commissioner Roger Goodell since the sanctions were levied, but when asked about his future said, “I will coach again,” Elizabeth Merrill of ESPN.com reports.

In his first known public appearance since the Saints bounty scandal four months ago, Williams surfaced Friday for his annual charity golf event in his hometown of Excelsior Springs, Mo.

Williams declined to comment on the ongoing bounty scandal, and said the golf event was “all about the kids.” The Gregg Williams Foundation is nearing the $1 million mark in money raised for the youth of Excelsior Springs.

Pressed about his future, Williams said, “I will coach again.”
