Adrian Peterson Arrested in Houston For Resisting Arrest

Vikings RB Adrian Peterson
was arrested by the Houston Police Department for resisting arrest at 2:30 AM this morning. The bond is set at $1,000.

His only previous run-in with the law was a speeding violation.

UPDATE: ProFootballTalk has more information, saying that Peterson was at a club with his girlfriend and his family and that surveillance cameras and eyewitness phone footage might be forthcoming:

“Peterson wanted to get some water before he left, but an officer told Peterson that he needed to leave.  Some words apparently were exchanged, but Peterson eventually walked to the exit with one of the club’s bouncers.

It’s believed that one of the officers then jumped on Peterson’s back from behind and tried to take him down.  (Key word:  ‘tried.’)  Other officers then joined the fray and completed the arrest.”

Peterson suffered a torn ACL, torn MCL, and meniscus damage last year.

Vikings coach Leslie Frazier told soldiers on his USO tour that Adrian aims to be ready for week 1. I’ve said all along with this being a three-part injury, it may be best to ease him back in slowly, maybe start him out with 6 weeks on the PUP list. Super Bowl-winning former Broncos RB Terrell Davis said it was hard to go through that injury himself and that part of the problem is mental. He said that rather than being instinctive, you start to choreography your moves. He began to favor one knee so much that the other wore out on him.
