In not much of a shock based on the season he had in 2011, Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers was selected the top player in the National Football League as determined by the vote of other current NFL players.
The NFL Network, which conducted the voting, revealed Rodgers’ No. 1 position Wednesday night in a two-hour program, during which the top 10 players in the voting were disclosed.
“The Top 100: Players of 2012” series has been airing weekly on the NFL Network, 10 players at a time, starting on the back end of the list. Last season the #1 spot went to Patriots QB Tom Brady, who wound up at #4 this season.
