NFL Announces Late Afternoon Kickoffs from 4:15pm to 4:25pm

The NFL has announced that late afternoon games (4:15pm starts) are being pushed back even further – as they will now start at 4:25pm.

The league says that the change in time will reduce the overlap by 66 percent over the last three seasons, reducing the numbers of affected games from 44 to 15.

Regionally-televised late-afternoon games will continue to begin at 4:05pm Eastern.

NBC’s Football Night in America will stay at the start time at 7:00pm EST every Sunday evening.
