The Patriots Cut Chad Ochocinco; Broncos and Jaguars Potential New Destinations

The New England Patriots have cut WR Chad Ochocinco.

Chad, who agreed to lessen his deal not long ago, caught 15 receptions for 276 yards and 1 TD in the regular season, and one catch for 21 yards in the Super Bowl. He had issues picking up the Patriots playbook.

The speculation has begun as to where he will play next. Broncos CB Drayton Florence contacted him on Twitter, and he responded with a joke about having an asthma pump ready.

Chad has partied in the past in Miami, so the Dolphins and a second appearance on “Hard Knocks” makes sense for 85 (Bess the only sure receiver) and HBO. I don’t know if Ireland and Philbin are interested.

Bills WR Stevie Johnson tweeted this:
“OG @Ochocinco tell ya agent to set that up with The #BillsMafia. Ya Field Swag was Contained a Whole Season. Come TurnUp wit us in BuffCity.”

Chad Ochocinco is the kind of receiver who doesn’t have to fit with a team loading up with an all-in mentality, like the Broncos, Texans, Ravens,  Bears or Giants. A team could sign him just because he’s going to cost so little, and has so much experience.

The most logical spots are Denver and Jacksonville. The only Broncos veteran receiver who’s played in more than two postseason games is Brandon Stokley. They also signed former Bengal Andre Caldwell. The Jaguars already signed Laurent Robinson and Lee Evans, and will sign Justin Blackmon. Yet, Chad is close to offensive coordinator Bob Bratkowski.

Hit “Like” or the Facebook share button if you want to see Chad Ochocinco celebrate at least one more touchdown, at least for nostalgia’s sake.
