The furor over a grown woman taking a cleat from a young boy that belonged to Packers WR Donald Driver has finally prompted the woman to say she’s sorry for the incident.
If you haven’t seen the incident, the video and pic of the crazy woman can be seen HERE.
Robyn Ereth of Neshkoro was standing next to the young boy, Stephen Wagner, and when Driver after a charity softball game threw his cleat into the stands, intended for the boy, the nut-job woman grabbed it in what appeared to be a fit of rage.
Ereth released a statement Monday afternoon to The Post-Crescent of Appleton.
“I recognize that by saying I’m deeply sorry, it may not be enough and sufficient to address the disappointment of this young man on Sunday. I am a huge fan of the Packers and the Timber Rattlers and just overreacted in the excitement of the moment. Therefore, I want to apologize for my actions, and I am trying to locate this fan to provide him the shoe and a person-to-person apology.”
The Timber Rattlers are the minor league team that plays at the stadium where the event was held, not that anyone cares.
Driver was able to find a way to get in touch with Wagner on Monday, and gave him cleats, a jersey and a bat. A message attached to the photo posted by Driver on his Twitter read: “Great to meet Stephen! We got him some new cleats, a jersey and baseball bat. Glad I could put a smile on his face!”
Props to the woman for saying sorry, but you have to wonder if she would have cared one bit if her name didn’t make national headlines for the psycho she appears to be in the video.
