Should the Jets Start Thinking About Life Without Darrelle Revis?

By Maurisse Johnson

As a Jet fan I love Darrelle Revis. We haven’t had a player of his caliber since Curtis Martin. When a player holds out for more money or a better contract because of they’re superior play compared to their contract; I am all for them doing so.

Let’s be clear, we all secretly wish we can do the same at our 9-5 jobs – we often work long hours and go above and beyond the call of duty in order to try to get raises and promotions and once in a while bonuses. The idea of no showing up for work in order to force our employer’s hand is something we all dream about: but for us that just isn’t a reality.

In this case though, I have come to a conclusion that even if Revis signed another lucrative extension for say 5 years and $70 million with $35 million guaranteed he would then proceed to say in the later half of the contract that he isn’t being paid appropriately.
