Saints General Manager Mickey Loomis reaffirmed his commitment to signing Drew Brees to a new contract according to WWLTV.com.
Loomis said he held no ill will towards Brees despite the quarterback’s recent interview in which he expressed “frustration” with the pace – or lack thereof – of negotiations.
“Drew loves the Saints and we love Drew,” he said.
Loomis said Brees’ deal is the most important contract he has ever handled and that it will get done. Owner Tom Benson, who was inducted into the Hall for his stewardship of the franchise, also said a deal would get done with the team’s franchise quarterback.
