Vikings Goes with Kalil After Trade

With the 4th pick in the 2012 NFL Draft the Minnesota Vikings picks Tackle Matt Kalil USC. Needing a tackle to make running holes and to protect quarterback Christian Ponders. Kalil is the best offense lineman in the draft the Vikings is able to draft the best player on their board and fill a big need.

Strengths

  • Ideal frame and wide stance with above average measurables big hands and long arms.
  • Impressive foot speed and range to cover a lot of ground
  • has very good awareness, excellent vision and overall feel for his surroundings

Weaknesses

  • needs to continue to get stronger in his lower body
  • tends to get upright off the snap relying on his upper body strength
  • tends to play to the level of his opponents
