In the first surprise of the draft the Seattle Seahawks reach for Bruce Irvin from West Virginia. Coach Pete Carroll has no fear in drafting players with off field red flags. Irvin has plenty of red flags, so he’s going to a place with a coach that looks past things. Most mocks had Irvin going in the 2nd round or later because of red flags. Irvin Will get is chance to shine.
Strengths
- The best pure pass rusher in the draft
- Good speed and burst of the line closing speed
- In limited time had 22.5 sacks in two years
Weaknesses
- Undersized does not play the run at all
- Not very good at the point of attack
- Will jump offsides must cut this down
- Must get bigger physically too lean for a long NFL career
