Matt Forte to Sit Out Bears Funcitions Till He Gets a Long-Term Deal

The Bears offseason pickup of running back Michael Bush may be a bigger pickup than first thought, as it looks like Matt Forte won’t be around for some time.

Reports from ESPN’s Adam Schefter state that Forte won’t be showing up to any team functions till he gets a new long-term deal.

“He’s not signing anything until he has a long-term deal,” Schefter stated. “And until he has that … you will not see Matt Forte in Chicago.”

Forte spoke up when the team inked Bush, basically stating that he’ll play along with the teams plan moving forward, but it didn’t mean he had to like the move.

The Bears back has a one-year franchise tender sitting on the table, and it looks like it will sit there awhile as he waits for a big deal from the team.
