By Andy Green – Jaguars Gab
Blaine Gabbert played a large portion of the season with a broken toe, according to Gene Frenette of the Florida-Times-Union, who recently sat down for an interview with the Jaguars quarterback.
A toe injury may seem insignificant but one of the primary knocks on Gabberts performance in 2011 was that he didn’t step into his throws. A broken toe could have had an effect on that part of his game.
Gabbert isn’t using it as an excuse but maybe it does help explain something about Gabberts poor performance.
“It’s a mute point” Gabbert said. “Everybody plays through injuries in the NFL. It’s part of the job description”.
Gabbert told Frenette about the injury and also touched on many other issues about his rookie season in the interview with the Florida-Union-Times. You can read the interview here.
