REPORT: Tebow To Be Traded To Jacksonville or Jets For 3rd-Round Pick Today

WKMG in Orlando reports that Broncos QB Tim Tebow will be traded to Jacksonville or the Jets today for a 3rd round pick.

Elway has hinted that it will be up to Tebow where he goes.

If he goes to the Jets, he’ll be behind two QB’s that are better than him right now – Sanchez and Stanton -, and on the same team as someone who openly dislikes him, Antonio Cromartie. The last Jets OC, Brian Schottenheimer, liked to use Brad Smith and Jeremy Kearley as QB in special formations. Current Jets OC Tony Sparano did the same in Miami with Ronnie Brown.

If he goes to Jacksonville, it should be a similar set-up but they may have special packages for him because they have such a great run game. His option attack would make for bigger runs for Maurice Jones-Drew, Rashad Jennings, and Deji Karem.

If he is willing to play other positions and be QB only for special packages, the Colts, Buccaneers, Vikings and Patriots all make sense (especially with all the picks the Patriots have). Tebow’s salary for 2012 is $1.5m.
