The Patriots added a vet to their O-line on Monday, as the team came to terms with veteran free agent guard Robert Gallery.
Gallery was the 2nd overall pick by the Raiders out of Iowa back in 2004. He has started 103 of his 104 games in the NFL, including all 12 games he played for the Seahawks in 2011.
Signed to a three-year, $15 million contract after last year’s lockout, Gallery battled groin injuries throughout his one season in Seattle, missing four of the first five games of the season. Gallery would return and play in all of the Seahawks’ offensive snaps in nine of the last 11 games of the season.
He was released late last week by Seattle. He will give the Pats some depth at the guard spot, and will be behind starters Logan Mankins and Brian Waters.
