Vince Young’s Publicist Hints At Dolphins Interest; Young Wants To Play For 49ers

Denise White of Vince Young’s publicity firm EAG made a tweet today saying “How about @VinceYoung to the Dolphins? I hear rumblings? Would he be a good fit for them??”. Vince Young responded with a re-tweet, adding “or the 49ers“.

We knew Manning signing would set off a chain of events with quarterbacks, as it is crucial for them to get with their teams and learn their respective offense. The next one to sign could be Vince Young, if it seems like he’s only going to get back-up offers. At that juncture, it comes down to which place Vince wants to go to and perhaps where he believes he’ll have the best opportunity to challenge the starter.

The fact that Young is interested in the 49ers implies to me that he still wants to start, as he would be the most start-ready QB on the roster. The Eagles don’t want him back, and there is mutual interest there between Philly and David Garrard.

As for the Dolphins, they’ve lost out on Manning and Flynn and traded their best wide receiver since Mark Clayton. I don’t believe Young would help subdue the negative backlash in South Beach right now. The younger Ryan Tannehill – who hasn’t had the history of poor play Vince Young has – might.

While SF will not duplicate last season’s record with any qb, I do think theyre better with him than with Smith. Miami without a doubt would be a better team.

  2. Danny Austin says:

Well we all know VY is capable of playing extremely
    well in California.

2 rose bowl wins in Pasadena, 1 of which a National title
isn’t bad.. Also, 2 pro bowls in 6 years as a pro isn’t either. It’s a lot better than
Alex Smith, Matt Moore and David Garrard combined.

Ryan ****ing Tannehill? No history of poor play? WTH

  5. Corey says:

How about VY to Houston? Bring him back to H-town

  6. Myron says:

It’s time the Niners stop playing around and grab a qb who can bring some credit to this team. VY is much better than Smith and with the new additions they would most likely return to the playoffs. GO GET YOUNG!!!

  7. Earl Hearne says:

I agree with Corey, Vince Young should have been given the opportunity and challenge of playing in Houston day one out of college! Now we can fix this mistake by the Texans ownership/management and bring him home! Reliant would be packed no matter what the score/record.

Are you kidding me??? VY sucks. He is a cry baby and a quitter. He sure is not a leader! Tennessee getting rid of that trash is the best thing they did.

Send him to H-town, Cali, or wherever you want. He is not a starter for a reason. He SUCKS!

Ryan Tannehill doesn’t have a history of poor play? I guess you didn’t see his college career.

I have no idea what the pro scouts see in this guy. It’s like the opening scene in Moneyball… “He looks the part.”
