Gridiron Gab 2012 NFL Scouting Profile; FB/DE CJ Parish Arizona

Versatility can take you far in your dreams of playing in the NFL. But when scouting CJ Parish versatility is just the start. In the past two seasons as an Arizona Wildcat Parish has played fullback on a high powered offence, led the team in sacks at defensive end and even found time to play linebacker.

Change can be met with resistance or some hesitation. CJ has moved from defense to offence and back to defense of the good of the team. The changing back and forth probably diminished CJ’s draft stock a bit as he wasn’t able to focus and train for one position. Despite this CJ willingly changed positions for the good of the team. Showing how much of a team play he truly is.

Most NFL teams see CJ as an H-back or hybrid fullback. At 6-2” 245 pounds it’s easy to why teams think that. But what sets CJ apart from the other fullbacks is his speed. CJ ran a 4.49 forty, which if ran at the NFL combine it could have be a record. In a league where an H-back is being used more and more Parish will likely get his chance to prove he can play in the NFL.
