Rams coach Jeff Fisher indicated Friday at the NFL Combine that he would at least consider the possibility of former Titans defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth joining him in St. Louis.
Haynesworth was released by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers recently and can be signed before free agency begins on March 13. Fisher said the Rams are considering Haynesworth among a number of players.
“There’s some unrestricted free agents out there that are not under contract that we’ve been talking about. He’s one of them, and that is something that remains to be seen,” Fisher said.
Haynesworth was Tennessee’s first-round pick in 2002 and enjoyed his two most productive seasons as a Titan in 2007 and 2008 before leaving as a free agent for the Washington Redskins, where he signed a $100 million contract, but did not live up to expectations.
