Yahoo!’s Jason Cole has reported that sources close to Moss indicate that the Jets and Eagles are interested in Randy Moss, who celebrated his 35th birthday by announcing his comeback. He also claims that the 49ers will be interested if Josh Morgan doesn’t return. ProFootballTalk’s Mike Florio has indicated that the Patriots “still like him” and will consider trying to bring him back.
Because he is a free agent right now, he has a chance to court teams as they prepare for the draft. Any receiver whose final year of their contract was 2011 won’t be available to work out or discuss contracts until March 8th.
I believe the teams that should most be interested in bringing him back are teams like the Ravens, Bears, and – yes – the Lions. These three teams have rocket-armed quarterbacks who can stretch the field, and all have needs at wide receiver (the Lions could cut Nate Burleson for Moss, who was a part of Detroit OC Scott Linehan’s offense in Minnesota).
